Sunday is our happiest day – but what about the rest of the week?

#Sunday is our #Happiest #Day, but what about the rest of the #Week?

It may be traditionally be the day of rest, but more people break bones on a Sunday than any other day of the week, according to Danish scientists. The figures are boosted by the high number of amateur sports matches and the fact that kids are more likely be active outside, doing things like riding bikes. On the plus side, the end of the week is also the happiest. Researchers find out which days of the week we love the most by counting the number of positive and negative words used. The findings show Sunday is our favorite day with our worst day being Wednesday.
Mondays are a good day to invest in the stock market but a bad day for staying alive. Shares on a Monday tend to move in a similar direction as Friday making it easier to predict price changes. A fifth more deaths happen on a Monday and it is the most common day to die of a heart attack. This is the best day to start losing weight as you’ll have a better chance of sticking to your dietAccording to a Tesco poll of women trying to slim down over the previous year, we are more much more motivated to continue if we start afresh at the beginning of the week. It’s also the most popular day for smokers to give up. Data collected from four million operations in NHS hospitals over four years found that patients get the best results from surgery on Mondays. This is due a higher number of medical staff being on duty who are well rested after the weekend.
Tuesdays are a good day to update blog pages but a bad day for sexWe have the least sex on Tuesdays according to an NOP health survey. The most hits on blog pages are recorded on Tuesdays. Tuesday is also the day when we are at our most productive, making it the best time to blitz that to-do list.
After the Monday blues have worn off, the left of our brain – the side that dominates rational, organised thought – kicks into action and starts working at its best, according to the US Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
Wednesdays are a good day to ask for a pay rise but a bad day for drivingIn a survey of 1,500 bosses, most revealed they were more receptive to requests a Wednesday. On Mondays they are too busy preparing for the week ahead and by Thursday and Friday they are thinking about the weekend. Now we hit midweek, tiredness and less late night drinking means Wednesday is when we get our best night’s sleep, according to a study of alarm clock users. If you need to head to the shops and you don’t want your blood pressure to rise, choose Wednesday afternoon. According to the British Retail Consortium, this is the quietest time in stores.
It’s also the best time to catch your boss and ask for a rise. A poll of more than 1,500 workers by Office Angels found seven out of 10 are more receptive to requests for money on this day.
Wednesday works best because bosses are too busy planning for the week on Monday, and by Thursday they are thinking ahead to the weekend.
Most traffic accidents happen on Wednesdays according to vehicle management firm Velo. It came to this conclusion after analyzing 55,000 insurance claims.
Thursdays are good to give up smoking. Your willpower is strong for the first few days which helps you get through the weekend.  Making love today should feel better than at any other time of the week. Researchers at the London School of Economics found the build-up of the stress chemical cortisol over the week – which stimulate sex hormones – peaks on a Thursday. But while it may be good for your love life, this is not a good day to check into hospital.

Fridays are good to sack someone but bad for earthquakes. Judi James, a business consultant, says Mondays are a bad day to tell someone they are fired because they only take the negative message. But on a Friday the words may not be as wounding and he or she may even agree it is time to look for another job. Half of the worst earthquakes in history struck on a Friday, including one that killed 30,000 in Gujarat, India, and 2003's in Bam, Iran, that left 40,000 dead. This is the day when dieters are most likely to cheat, claims the Tesco diet survey. And that’s because they feel they deserve a treat after a stressful week. It’s no surprise to learn that Friday is also the day when it’s hardest to get out of bed – we rise at an average time of 8.12am compared with 6.59 am on Monday, says a study of 326,000 alarm clock users.
Saturday After a busy week, it’s finally time for a lie-in. On average, we get 27 minutes more kip on a Saturday morning. Saturdays are a good day to have a baby but a bad day for drinking. Babies born on Saturdays have a better than average chance of becoming Prime Minister. Of 20 British leaders elected since 1900, six were born on a Saturday including Harold Wilson, Stanley Baldwin and Anthony Eden.
The number of people admitted to hospital for alcohol poisoning increases by two-thirds on Saturdays, the British Medical Journal revealed.
Sunday is the safest, sleepiest day of the week Sundays are a good day to communicate but bad for cooking. A third more people opened their personal emails on a Sunday compared with a busy weekday, according to new research. One in five of us say cooking a roast dinner is as stressful for the family as going to the dentist. One in 10 prefer crisps in front of the television.
